I don’t have a long preamble for you today like I normally do. There’s nothing that’s getting the juices flowing. Normally, I’m all gung-ho to churn out a piece on something I’m fired up about, but today I got nothing. Which is clearly a win-win for you. You won’t have to read one of my patented overthought, overwritten diatribes about Player “X” or Front Office Exec “Y,” and you also get to read the Eagles news and notes that much quicker. And it’s all because I’m feeling uninspired and just the slightest bit lazy — you’re welcome!
If you’re feeling similarly uninspired, perhaps a video of Jordan Hicks mic’d up can sooth your savage soul. Not gonna lie, it certainly doesn’t hurt. I love me some Jordan Hicks.
That was fun. Now let’s bring it back to reality. Torrey Smith was atrocious last season. Like, ATROCIOUS. And if you don’t believe me, Jimmy Kempski will convince you you’re wrong. I’m choosing to look on the bright side here. Sadly, the bright side is that Torrey checked out cause he was in a horrible situation. So…yeah. Let’s move on.
More stark reality, the Eagles are terrible at running back. Luckily (hopefully), I think they’ll address it in the draft.
Speaking of running back, Dave Zangaro takes a look at the five biggest needs the Eagles have after the initial round of free agency. Personally, I would go: Cornerback, edge rusher, running back, wide receiver (still), and outside linebacker. But I could see other arguments as well. Either way, they got holes to fill.
Lastly, before we peruse the Twittersphere, let’s try and finish out on a high note (before we actually end on the lowest of notes). Mike Sando polled NFL executives on every team’s moves in free agency (for ESPN Insider). Spoiler alert: The Eagles did well.
Alright, I’ve clearly mailed this piece in from top-to-bottom. I mean, I gave you guys nothing today. In my defense, I did say “I got nothing” earlier, so you were forewarned, but I still shit the bed. Sorry y’all. I’ll try and do better in the future. Sadly, we are still in the present – which means more of this, except worse because of what we’re about to do. So sit back, relax and hope for the best as we celebrate our daily Morning Sesh Twitter Fest:
A lot of hot air will be wasted on whether the #Eagles draft a RB in the first round of the draft. Never say never, but it’s very unlikely.

I agree with you Jeff. But I don’t think anything is going to slow down the McCaffery/Cook hype train right now. Well, nothing except the Eagles eventually not taking a running back, I guess.
Keep word”was told”! Now please tell us the source you get this info from. Since you feel the need to spread he say she say. You have proof? https://t.co/3Zpt6T2vLZ

We talked about Charles Robinson’s tweet yesterday and I guess Bennie must’ve heard us. Sorry Bennie. *Lowers voice to a whisper* I also don’t believe you.
Miami Dolphins have reached a 3-year extension with Kiko Alonso for $29 million with $18.5 guaranteed, according to NFL source
— Joe Schad (@schadjoe) March 21, 2017
Speaking of former Eagles and long-term contracts…Wow! Kiko got paid. Also, I think the Dolphins are playing with a different salary cap than everyone else. Fun fact, they’ve spent all the money this offseason. All of it.
Panthers announce Cam Newton will undergo surgery on March 30 for a partially torn rotator cuff.

Do you think we’ve seen the best of Cam? I hope not. That would suck. I don’t even want to talk about it. What’s next?
— NBC Sports (@NBCSports) March 21, 2017
Yup. That’s what you should do Geno. Good plan.
NFL is developing a video to help players understand celebration rule, but more must be done to ensure consistency https://t.co/aMDNM1eaAd

I hate this tweet so much I would murder it if I were that kind of person.
LeBron was not pleased with LaVar Ball. pic.twitter.com/hrsTDDl9kd

Oh shit! Don’t mess with Bron Bron. LaVar Ball is going to piss off every person in the NBA by the time his kid plays his first game in it. Smart.

Good for him. Fwiw, it certainly appears like Kaep is getting blackballed – and that’s f*cked up if that’s the case. I’ll leave it at that. Until next time…
