I’m trying to get hyped for tonight’s game. I really am. But I just can’t; I have zero hype. Now don’t get me wrong – I want the Eagles to win. First and foremost, I hate the Giants. I hate them so effing much. But more so, it would be nice to not lose seven straight games (and 9 of 10 for that matter) to end the season. Losing sucks, and it wears on you – seeing one more win before a long offseason would be nice. Having said all that, I still don’t find myself invested in the game – win or lose – because it just doesn’t matter. But I’ll root my team on, and I’ll watch #11 and dream of a day (hopefully soon) where it does. Read more for more (awesomeness).
Lane Johnson said, “I failed the team.” You failed the team? Really? Really, Lane?
NO FREAKING SHIT ASSHOLE! I mean, jfc. Listen, I know Lane has to speak to the media – and I know he needs to say something that displays an adequate level of remorse for his impressive display of dumbassery. But I just want this guy to shut the F up. I can’t stomach him right now. Hey Lane, go protect my quarterback. Otherwise, go away.
Sticking with the o-line, Jason Peters has made a strong case to return at left tackle next season. However, there are ramifications that would come with his return. My guess: Peters will be back in 2017. Feel free to rip me when I’m wrong -but I feel pretty confident I won’t be, fwiw.
What’s that you say? You want more o-line action? Done and done! Another guy who’ll be back next season is Brandon Brooks. PFF (take them or leave them) makes a strong case that the guard will be a Pro Bowler in the near future – From ESPN Insider:
Brooks was one of the league’s best free-agent acquisitions and has been consistently impressive, even as the Eagles’ season has gone off the rails. He has surrendered just one sack this season, despite pass-blocking for a rookie quarterback with less-than-stellar pocket presence and movement. Brooks has surrendered just 16 total pressures across 523 pass-blocking snaps and has been flagged only three times.
I think Brooks is a legit piece moving into the future, I just wish we could count on Lane as one too. He’s going come back and play great right up until the day his 2-year suspension drops. Sigh. Moving on. If you’re unlike me, and are actually hyped for tonight – then you’ll be happy to know that Allen Barbre will start at left guard tonight. Also, I’d like to offer a quick word of congratulations to myself for breaking the record for most consecutive offensive line related notes in a row. As a former High School offensive lineman myself, I’m truly honored and humbled to be the person to finally break such a historic record. Thanks you guys, I couldn’t have done it without you.
As with all good things, the o-line record-breaking notes streak is now coming to an end. I have nothing more to say about the o-line. Instead, let’s say some things about Eagles-Giants. TMac thinks OBJ could have a big day against the Eagles. You’re not the only one brother. I think it’d be harder to find someone who doesn’t think he’s going to eat us alive.
Here’s three numbers that matter heading into tonight’s game. The Giants’ D is legit. Have I mentioned how much I hate the Giants? This feels like an appropriate time to bring that up again. I hate them so freaking much. Speaking of hate, let’s finish this out by heading to the epicenter for hate and anger and vitriol – it’s time for some Twitter Dot Com action:
Odell Beckham Jr. on #Eagles fans: “I’ve been called everything in the book down in Philly. I embrace it. … It’s a pretty ruthless place.”
— Jeff McLane (@Jeff_McLane) December 20, 2016
This is a compliment, right? I’m not sure whether to be angry or appreciative. What am I saying, this is Philly, I’m angry! *See what I did there?*
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) December 21, 2016
This would be huge, again, if I really cared about the game. Jenkins has quietly been one of the best corners in the league this season.
Roster Move: #Eagles place RB Kenjon Barner (hamstring) on Injured Reserve. T Lane Johnson has been reinstated to the active roster.
— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) December 20, 2016
See ya Kenjon. Get better. I’m a fan and I hope you’re back next year.

I am OUTRAGED by this. Everything I thought to be true is a lie. It certainly appears that everything is NOT Always Sunny In Philadelphia, apparently.
The #Eagles wanted both Adam Gase & Ben McAdoo. They evaluated correctly, as both have turned around their new teams. Jury still out on Doug
— Eliot Shorr-Parks (@EliotShorrParks) December 22, 2016
The Eagles definitely wanted these two guys. But while early returns are good, I’m still not convinced either is a great coach yet. McAdoo’s mustache alone is reason to doubt his long-term potential for success – I mean, c’mon. But yeah, so far I’d definitely take either guy over Dougie P.

Ugh. It’s so annoying that I agree with both of these grades. Though I could be swayed to give Wentz an A-. But man, Zeke may deserve an A++. Also, I hate him. He’s the worst. And he wears belly shirts…which is ridiculous.
Eli tosses it up the sideline…@OBJ_3 will take it from here.

Can we please, please, pleeeeeeaaaase get one of these for Carson? Just think about how much fun that would be!
