News and Notes:
– Offensive Lineman Noah Beh will not be competing to fill in for injured starting right tackle Andrew Nelson, at least for now. Today he was suspended by Penn State Coach James Franklin.
Beh, a redshirt sophomore out of Scranton Prep, is suspended for a violation of team rules, Franklin told reporters on Tuesday’s Big Ten coaches teleconference. The coach did not elaborate on the specifics of Beh’s suspension. “Noah’s not factoring right now,” Franklin said. “He’s been suspended for a violation of team rules, so Noah does not factor in at this time.” Beh, after redshirting in 2014, appeared in all 13 games last season.
– The October 22nd matchup with Ohio State will air on ABC at 8 p.m. It’s the fifth-straight season that the two teams tangle in primetime. The Buckeyes survived with a 31-24 double overtime win on their last trip to State College.
– Penn State head coach James Franklin did not hold a press conference today at Beaver Stadium. Despite the bye week, “The Penn State Coaches Show Featuring James Franklin” will still be airing on Thursday at 6:00 pm.
Each Tuesday we’ll update you on where Penn State sits in the latest recruiting rankings. This week, the Nittany Lions climb a few spots in the Rivals rankings despite no additional commitments. Changes in the Scout or 24/7 rankings did not impact Penn State.
